Meeting an Author

Last night my girlfriend and I went to Border books to meet Jen Lancaster! She is on tour for her new book, Pretty in Plaid.This is book number 4. I have read the first three and have laughed so hard. I introduced my friend to her and she loves them as much as I do.

Do you see Jen? She is the one with the white sweater tied around her shoulders. Love her bag! The theme was to come dressed in 80's clothes but coming from work that wasn't an option for me. There were some ladies that were dressed in 80's wear and they looked fabulous.

Here we are waiting for Jen to start. There were microphone issues.She read a passage from the book about being a Girl Scout and then ended with question and answers. She shared about her family and the dogs and what she has in store for her fans and readers!And then it was book signing time! When I went up to have my copy signed she commented on my shoes. She was wearing shoes very similar to mine by the same designer. How cool!I had a very fun girls night out on a school night! Thanks LC!

Garden Clogs

I love Ladybugs. If it has a ladybug on it, I will most likely purchase the item. I just love them! Here are some garden clogs that I purchased awhile ago to wear around the garden I will one day have. A close up of the yellow design.

I don't have a garden area in my yard. I do have flower beds along the front of the house and a ring around the large pecan tree in the back yard. I have a side yard between our detached garage and the wooden fence that I have claimed to turn into a nice little garden area. It's on my to do list. But I can't decide if I want a flower cutting garden, herb garden or vegetable garden. I will have to research each one and find out what would work best for that small area.

Brown Shoes and Holiday Mood

Today is wear brown shoes day. And yes I did wear brown shoes today! I took out all my brown shoes in my closet and snapped a quick picture of all them. I have flats to heels, sandals to boots. What kind of brown shoes do you have?

The shoe of choice for today. Not very pretty but so comfortable! Took Maggie to Doggy Day Care this morning. She loves playing with the other dogs and is very tired when we pick her up. Which is great because she is so exhausted that she can't chew anything up. Took DS to tutoring and while he was there I met my friend LC to get pedis and manis.

These were the two colors I picked today. I got Sweet Heart, the one on the left, for my nails and California Raspberry on my toes. I love this color. I also got a chair massage while there today. It felt so good. Now my friend and I are all ready for tomorrow night. We have been invited to a Quinceanera. This is the second one I have ever been invited too. We are going and it should be lots of fun with food and dancing. More about it later this weekend. Most of my girlfriends will be there as well. Angie, the honoree, is the daughter of a friend at work, so it will be nice to see familiar faces since we have been off for the summer. Later in the day we ran some errands and then made a stop at Baskin Robbins. I think we will have to make this a weekly visit. There were some interesting flavors that I want to try. The rain came again today. I think we may be all starting to grow web feet. This has been the wettest summer that I can ever remember. I will have to look this information up! So not much time outside or swimming.
