Animal Kingdom

Here are my pictures from Animal Kingdom. Enjoy!

The parade is my favorite. I love how they use these big puppet like floats.

Lots of dancing going on during the parade.

My niece enjoying the parade.
My DS enjoying the parade.
My nephew enjoying the parade and lost a tooth will waiting for it to start.

All of us waiting for the bus over to Animal Kingdom in the morning.
We are exciting to have a fun day at Animal Kingdom!
The beautiful landscaping. The mountain in the distance is Expedition Everest, one of the best roller coasters in Disney
The theming is incredible here at this park.
This was a fun ride. You load a big jeep like truck and roam on the land looking for animals. My pictures of the animals are not that great because it was very bumpy!
Cute scenes along the walkways. The Tree of Life is incredible. Be sure and take time to look at this when you visit. We walked a trail around the tree and were able to get close to see the carvings of the animals in the tree. Donald Duck was my Dad's favorite Disney character.
We spent New Years Day at this park and had a fabulous time. It started to get crowded in the late afternoon. We left this park for dinner at the Wilderness Lodge because there are no a lot of choices for sit down restaurants in this park.

Magic Kingdom

We were gifted a trip to Disney for the New Year from Santa this year. My parents, my sister's family and us all flew over to Disney to ring in the New Year. It was crowded and cold three days but we managed to get a lot done despite our group of 10! It was great making memories with family members that will be talked about for quite some time. We arrived at the Magical Place on December 30 and departed on January 5, 2008. We decided to spend New Year's Eve in the Magic Kingdom along with everyone else. We stayed to watch the 8:00 fireworks with Tinkerbell descent from the castle and then called it a night. It was shoulder to shoulder and with people all wearing slickers it was hard to keep up with the young ones. Here are a few pictures of the Magic Kingdom.

I love walking down Main Street. It was simply lovely with all the garland and bows.

The three older kids waiting to get an autograph. This was the thing to do on this trip. Waiting in long lines to have a character sign your book and get a picture. The Haunted Mansion is one of my favorite rides. My son will not ride this at nighttime. In fact he did not ride it at all this trip.
I just love the castle. Cinderella is one lucky girl!
Close up of the castle.
Fireworks at night on New Year's Eve.
As you leave the park, cast members are up above waving goodbye. A nice send off from a long day.

Thrifty Finds

Here are my finds.

The white Pyrex came from an upscale thrift store. It's really a treat when I venture to this thrift store. It's a church sponsored store and its where the rich take their items. And the items come with a higher price tag but they have quality items. The blue Pyrex is from a Goodwill store. It's getting harder and harder to find Pyrex. I think everyone knows to start purchasing it and reselling on e-bay.
What have you found lately at the thrift stores? Leave me a comment and let me come see what you found.

Thursday Thirteen~Elvis Movies

My Thursday Thirteen is in honor of The King, Elvis Presley. Growing up my sister and I would watch the movies on Sunday afternoons. The movies had everything we enjoyed, dancing, singing and a little romance. My sister actually got married on Elvis' birthday and had Elvis music sung during the reception. It was quite fun. Several years back my mom and I stopped off to visit Graceland, Elvis' home, on our way to Michigan. I still enjoy watching his movies today. Here are some of my favorites.
1. Jailhouse Rock 1957
2. G I Blues 1960
3. Blue Hawaii 1961
4. Girl Happy 1965
5. Wild in the Country 1961
6. Kissin Cousins 1964
7. Viva Las Vegas 1964
8. Double Trouble 1967
9. The Trouble with Girls 1969
10. Fun in Acapulco 1963
11. Girls Girls Girls 1962
12. Spin Out 1966
13. Speedway 1968

January Pay It Forward Book Exchange

Happy New Year! I hope you have added read more to your list of resolutions or goals for the year. If so then the book exchange is something you definitely want to participate in!

My book this month is Janet Evanovich's The Rocky Road to Romance. I love this author. She makes me laugh out loud everytime I pick up one of her books. I know you will enjoy it too.

When the delightful, daffy Dog Lady of station WZZZ offered to take on the temporary job of traffic reporter, Steve Crow tried to think of reasons to turn Daisy Adams down. Perhaps he knew that sharing the close quarters of a car with her for hours would give the handsome program director no room to resist her quirky charms. He'd always favored low-slung sportscars and high-heeled women, but that was before he fell for a free spirit who caught crooks by accident, loved old people and pets, and had just too many jobs!
Loving Daisy turned Steve's life upside down, especially once he adopted Bob, a huge dog masquerading as a couch potato. But was Daisy finally ready to play for keeps?

To enter please leave a comment for this post and if you don't have a blog then make sure you leave your e-mail so that I can get a hold of you.
If you're the lucky winner of the book exchange and you have your own blog I ask that you in turn host a drawing to give the book away for free to one of your readers. After you've had a chance to read it. If you mail the book out using the media/book rate that the post office offers its pretty inexpensive. If you're a non-blogger who has won the book, please consider donating the book to your local library or shelter after you're done with it.
I will close comments for this book exchange on Sunday, January 20 at midnight. I will draw a name on Monday, January 21 and announce the winner here on my blog and contact the winner.
Good Luck!
