A great day treasure hunting at the local resale shops. I came home with a new Pyrex Forest Fancies bowl and a stack of books. I wish I had found more Pyrex but I am happy with a perfect condition bowl. Perfect condition bowls are getting harder and harder to find. Also, I am thrilled with the books I found. All of them in my favorite genre, chick lit, and you can't beat the price of $1.00 a book!
What have you found lately?
Don't you just love getting great finds like these? I tend to visit several thrift shops about weekly - at one the books are $.25 or .50 and I usually find something there I want. Goodwill they are $1.99 but I go on Tuesdays to get the senior citizens (okay there have to be some good things about being over 55!) discount. In December I was in Melbourne and there is a GREAT used/rare book store downtown with a second branch at the flea market. WOW got lots of goodies! Tried to stay with the authors I collect but picked up some new ones too to try out!
ReplyDeleteThose are really delicious finds!!!
ReplyDeleteI love finding good books at that price!
What size is the Forest Fancies bowl? It looks like a 402....
Let me know
I just finished The Shack - didn't understand what all the "hype" was about. Wasn't "life changing" as I have heard. 2 of my favorites - Redeeming Love by F.Rivers, Watching the Tree Limbs by M.DeMuth.
ReplyDeleteOMG I sold a complete set (well, 3 bowls) at my parent's garage sale - I think they sold them for $5! Still in the box - 'course the box was trashed but still....
ReplyDeleteWow, I never find any good books at my local thrift stores. Good for you that you have one with a selection like that!
