I Had Big Plans

That's right~BIG Plans for Spring Break. First it was a trip to CA to visit my girlfriends but that didn't happen. Next it was a long list of projects around the house; painting, organizing, cleaning, electrician, repair man and decluttering. Nope, didn't happen. Instead it was lazy days of catching up on reality TV, a movie, a box load of treasures and some farm animals!

We saw Horton Hears A Who. I was not impressed by this movie. I love Dr. Seuss books and have lots in my classroom but the movie didn't do much for me. The kids loved it!

We made a trip to the Houston Livestock Show and let the kids have fun exploring and getting dirty.

We really enjoyed the pig races and watching a little pig swim across the trough.
Waiting to get into the petting area. I opted to not go in and wait out with the stroller. Stepping in poop didn't appeal to me.
The boys loved touching all the farm animals.

It's funny what a tractor does to city folks. And we couldn't leave with out a souvenir. A new lasso to practice roping our dog.

Overall we had a nice relaxing Spring Break. Hope you are enjoying the Spring in your neck of the woods.

Happy Birthday

Today is my sweet mother-in-laws birthday.

Tonight is my sons first baseball game. I am very nervous since its kid pitch. He already has lots of bruises on his legs from being hit by his own team members. The coach has my son playing several positions. He starts off as catcher and takes turn with another boy on the team. When he is not catcher he is either third baseman or outfield. I have signed him up to attend the Rice University baseball camp this summer at Reckling Park on campus. He is so excited to be able to work with top notch baseball coaches and university players. Now he wants all Rice Owls t-shirts and caps. He even told me that he would like to attend that university which made me very proud. It's a very distinguished university and only the top notch are accepted. My DH's parents both attended so maybe he can squeeze in.

Have a wonderful day!

Happy Birthday

Today is my DS's birthday. He is 9 years old going on 16!!!! We are having a special dinner tonight to celebrate, Greek Chicken and Pasta. We celebrated with my family on Sunday. Not sure if I'll have a party with friends this year. It's too difficult trying to coordinate sport schedules.

March Pay It Forward Book Giveaway

It's time for another one of my free Pay It Forward book giveaways.

So, I have one book to give away this month.

The Amen Sisters by Angela Benson

Editorial Review by Amazon.com

A Christy Award finalist offers a bold and gritty story about one of the most talked about issues in the church religious leaders who sexually abuse members of their congregations and how two women heal after betrayal. After witnessing the suicide of a church sister, Minister Francine Amen is disgusted with herself for turning against the young woman and refusing to accept her claim of sexual abuse by their pastor. Now, after a short stay in a psychiatric hospital, Francine is trying to pull her life and her ministry back together. But first she must face all of the people she has hurt so deeply including her younger sister, Dawn. But can Dawn trust her? Francine used to date Dawns husband, Sly who now seems just a little too interested in Francine's recovery. As far as Dawn is concerned, Sly would be better off spending his time making amends to her for his own sins.
