Lazy Saturday

We all slept in and then I made pancakes for breakfast. A huge favorite here at our house. We just hung around the house watching Disney Channel or surfing the web. When we finally got dressed we headed out to lunch to Pronto Cucinino Mandola's Casual Italian. I love eating here. The food is excellent in a casual atmosphere, perfect for DS. I had the Grilled Salmone with a side of fettuccine, DH had the Fettuccine Pronto and DS had the Child's penne pasta with meatball. After lunch we went to The Cookie Jar Bakery for dessert. We got a butter cream and a lemon cupcake to go. DS picked a new tiger Webkinz instead of dessert. I had seen this place on another blog and have been wanting to try it out. It was very charming and small. They didn't have a huge selection. They offer classes on cookie decorating and have a Webkinz party in the month of July that DS wants to attend. So we will be back. Next we headed back home because DH had to go to work. His work schedule coincides with the Astros games. So whenever there is a home game he has to go downtown. So DS and I have the evening to ourselves. We went to Target to get some things that we really needed and made a stop at the library to pick up some new books and DVDs to watch. Then took DS to the YMCA to go swimming and to try out his new goggles and torpedo that we had to have from Target.

Sunday we are going to church and then DS has tutoring. Then we will probably end up at the pool.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Happy Friday

Today's shoe choice. I love my Birki's. I had ordered them from QVC when they were the Today's Special Value, thinking I would give them a try. I love these. I also have a white pair. I wear them any chance I get. They are not fashionable or cute as some of my other shoes but way more comfortable then any other. I often wear these as house shoes, by slipping into them first thing in the morning. If you haven't tried a pair, please do so, your feet will think you for it.

Today I had a day planned for errands. I awoke early due to DH having an early doctor's appointment. Which is fine since I got up and got dressed and was ready to go. First stop, taking Maggie to doggie daycare. She is so excited about going. Also, her birth sisters attend and they get to play. Next, breakfast at a local place. They serve quick, cheap and good breakfast. DS and I had an enjoyable time talking. Next, DS had an assessment at his tutoring place. He had to take a academic reading test. While he was testing, I ran to Old Navy for a return and to purchase my parents red 4th of July shirts. My sisters family will be sporting the white Old Navy shirts and my family will be sporting the gray Old Navy shirts. We are going to wear these when we take our family trip in December. Next, Toys R Us. DS wanted to go look which means we left with a purchase. He wanted baseball cards and some baseball pennants to hang in his room. Next stop, the dry cleaners. Finally, we met my mom and DH for lunch at our favorite Mexican food restaurant. It was very nice visiting with them. We are home for a break and then will head out around 5:00 to pick up Maggie from doggie daycare, dinner and grocery shopping.

Have a great start to your weekend!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Yesterday was my birthday. I turned another year older. I celebrated by working! The girls and I were going to get together for lunch but some of them have things going on in their lives right now that are stressful so being the sweet and understanding friend, I cancelled. I don't turn older if I don't celebrate, right? We will get together at a later date and this will drag out the celebrating for me and the gifts! My family all got together at my parents house last night. My parents made an awesome dinner of my favorite dishes, Hawaiian chicken, seasoned rice, green beans, fruit salad, watermelon, dinner rolls. My parents made a fabulous strawberry cake with cream cheese icing for dessert. I think I have always requested this as my birthday cake. I was showered with lovely gifts from my family. I am also a part of a group of ladies on the Internet that swap goodie bags, cards, etc. and those ladies have been sending gift cards and such in the mail. I am really enjoying all this special attention. So far I have gift cards from Talbot's, Target, Sonic, and Panera. I will be going shopping very soon!

Today was the last day of summer school and my summer starts NOW. I am so looking forward to sleeping in and staying up late. My DH got box tickets for the Astros game tonight so we will be heading down there in awhile. We are so looking forward to history quite possibly happening at the ballpark tonight. We have a full day of errands tomorrow and still thinking about what we will be doing for the 4th.
Enjoy your evening!

Our Weekend

Well the rain slowed us down a bit. We have been having downpours every day. The weather has just been crazy. We had lunch at Lubys Cafeteria because kids eat free on Saturdays. WooHoo! Then DH took a nap and after the nap we headed down to Kemah Boardwalk for some fun! We had dinner at one of my favorite restaurants down there, Landry's. We stuffed ourselves. The food was delicious. Also, our view from our table was awesome. We could watch the boats leaving and coming back from the bay. After dinner we walked along the boardwalk and ended at the Stingray Reef. Here, for a fee, you can go inside and feed, touch and get soaked by some friendly stingrays. DS loved this! He didn't want to leave. Finally, we wondered over to the dancing water fountain where all the kids were running around and splashing about. They had an awesome band playing and singing. They were rocking the dock! DH and DS stayed there to watch and I ventured upstairs to the shops. Walked around and go some great ideas but didn't purchase anything this time. The weather here was nice, not a drop of rain. The sky was gray and cloudy but it held off til we left. I love going down to Kemah. I love the wind blowing in my hair, the sea breeze. I love sitting and watching the boats and people. We will definitely be going back soon.

Sunday I had to make Amish Friendship bread. My mom had given me a starter and it was ready on Friday to bake but I just didn't get around to it. So after making the bread and having a new starter I met the girls at Starbucks. We had the best time. We laughed and talked for what seemed like forever. One of my friends, LC, is going through a difficult time with her mother-in-law, who has been moved to Hospice. She and her husband need prayers! My friend, D, is trying to sell their home so they can move out to beautiful California. Do you know of anyone needing a house here in TX? And last by not least, Diva, is going for an interview at a university to start her masters while finishing up her last trimester with baby number 2. We are a crazy bunch, each of us so unique. I love them to pieces! After leaving the girls, we took Devil dog, I mean Maggie, to the dog park. She didn't seem to have as grand of a time without her sister. We were busy dodging the rain. Not much happened around the house with projects that need to get completed. I have next weekend. :)

Today due to the rain I was unable to venture out to my frequent shopping places while DS was at tutoring. Hopefully, Thursday I will be able to and will most definitely let you all know what I find.
Hope you had a fun weekend and that your week is off to a dry start!

Happy Weekend

Our weekend started off by hitting the workout room at our YMCA Friday morning. I completed all my stations and then walked on the treadmill. I am ready to face the day! DS played in the KidsZone while I worked out. He was busy playing some video game.
After the Y, DS and I met with friends, LC and Amanda for a movie and lunch. I wore the above shoe from Target and my new capri pants. We saw Surf's Up.

It was enjoyable. There were a couple of scenes that I thought were inappropriate for children but I don't think our two young ones picked them up. After the movie we had lunch here. We said goodbye to our friends and DS and I headed over to Famous Footwear to purchase some new shoes. We found a pair of tennis shoes for DS but nothing for me this time. We wondered over to Old Navy and picked up a few things for DS. I think Friday was definitely his day. We did all the things he wanted to do or picked.

We have plans for today but it depends on the weather. Need to go check out the weather report.

Enjoy your weekend!

Five Things I Love Right Now

1. Lancome Primordiale Optimum Visibly Correcting Moisturizer. My skin drinks this in every morning. It's light and fluffy and doesn't feel heavy or greasy.
2. Lancome UV Expert 20 Sunscreen Face and Body Protection daily Moisturizing Cream. I put this on after the above moisturizer to protect from sun damage. Even though I might not be in direct sunlight you can have harmful sun rays hit you while driving. Hopefully this with the above will help keep me looking like 30!

3. Philosophy Vanilla Birthday Cake shampoo, shower gel and bubble bath. I love this! My DS has taken it for himself to use. I have to keep bringing it back to my shower! I use this as a shampoo and shower gel. I haven't used as a bubble bath yet. I don't find much time for baths these days. The bottle even includes a recipe. Maybe I will be inspired to cook! I have tried many different scent/flavors of philosophy and this one is my favorite.

4. Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker perfume. I love this light smelling fragrance. Perfect for summer and really anytime. I spray it in my hair from the advice from the Fab Five; spray, delay and walk away.

5. Crystal Light Drink packets. I love these things. You just dump into your water bottle, give a shake and drink. I am not a big water drinker. In fact, I choose anything else to drink besides water. I grew up on Kool-aid so these are my adult version.

What do you love right now?

Happy Summer!

Movies

I am living the life of luxury, two movies in one week!Sunday night, my brother-in-law was able to get us tickets to see Nancy Drew. It was a great movie. The kids and I loved it. My sister had to leave before it started since my 9 month old niece didn't want any part of being in the movie theater. I recommend everyone to see it.

Today, my DS and I went to see Shrek the Third. I was quite tired and dozed off in parts but from what I remember seeing it was ok. I never saw the second Shrek movie. I say wait for the DVD on this one.

I just love summers to be able to go to the movies during the week!

Hope you did something to stay cool today!

Denim

I went to the mall yesterday to get a chair massage (I know crazy!) and wondered through Dillards. I have been needing a new pair of denim crop pants since mine are old, worn and holey and not in good places. So I picked up a pair there. There weren't expensive and they are capri length, a little shorter than I would have liked. But they have stretch which I love for moving and grooving this summer.

After the mall, I went to Talbots. One of my favs. There are having a sale!!!!! Drop everything and head over there. I picked up another pair of denim crop pants there. That was my mission for today, denim crop pants. I love these! They are longer than the first pair and have stretch as well.

Two great pairs of denim to wear this summer. I just love it!

Have a great day!

Happy Friday!

I am getting ready to celebrate 2 friends birthdays. I was out shopping yesterday at DSW and spotted these cute shoes to wear today. They are so comfortable. We are heading over to Willie's for lunch. More to come later, just wanted to share my purchase from yesterday. If my son corporates we will be hitting the resale shops later today.
Enjoy your day!

Our fun filled weekend

I started the weekend off at my friend DIVA's house. The kids went out back to swim while us girls sat around the kitchen table and caught up on what was happening since school was let out. The picture above doesn't do it justice. In fact that's not her pool. She had a large blow up pool for the kids to play in! I couldn't resist posting this beautiful pool. Someday!
Saturday we went to a local thrift store that my friend LC introduced me to. I picked up a pretty crystal tulip bowl. As soon as I learn how to post pictures from my camera, I will share. Then later that day we went to the beach. We had dinner at our favorite Italian place, Marios. It's right on the seawall and you can watch the passerbyers. After dinner we went striaght to the beach. My boys headed for the water and I sat comfortably in my chair reading, Citizen Girl. When the sun was just about gone we packed up and headed home.
Sunday we headed to Brenham, TX to check out an antique store. The place was recommend by a fellow blogger. You must check this place out if you are in the area. The store is called Leftovers Antiques. You will be amazed at their displays of wonderful treasures. Next we ventured over to Independence, TX to check out a garden store. Once again if you are in the area you must check this place out. The place is called Antique Rose Emporium. Your senses are in for a treat. We purchased some hens and chicks for our back patio. And we stopped at another garden store on the way home to look at birdbaths. I am on the search for one.
Later that evening my friend LC called and ask if we would like to join her and her fury babies at the Dog Park. We have a fury baby, Maggie, and I will introduce her later. Little G, my son, was so excited but Mr G wanted to take a nap. He was tired from chaffuering me around TX. Little G, Maggie and I joined my friend and her fury babies and we had the best of time. They ran and played, swam and played, fetched and played. We were all tired at the end of the day.
Whew! That was our weekend! Not much done around the house. No projects completed. How was your weekend?

Test

See if I have this figured out.
