Menu Monday

I can't believe it's already Monday! We had a fabulous weekend in San Antonio visiting Sea World. We can't get enough of that place. One of the shows that we saw was about creepy creatures-snakes, spiders and the like. My son and his cousin were asked if they would like to volunteer and come up on stage to hold an animal before the start of the show. Being boys they agreed right away.

Here is my menu for the week:

Monday-Lemon Butter Shrimp with Fettuccine, salad, bread

Tuesday-Grill Cheese Sandwiches and Tomato Soup

Wednesday-Tortilla encrusted Tilapia, butter noodles, salad, vegetable

Thursday-Supreme Pizza

Book Club Friday

Today I am linking up with Heather over at Undercover Blonde for Book Club Fridays. I have enjoyed reading others recommendations and thought I would give it a try.

The book I have been reading and need to return to the school library is 11 Birthdays by Wendy Mass. The book caught my attention by the bright cover. Am I the only one that picks books by their covers? I work in an elementary school and this was a newer book that arrived so I checked it out. It's like Groundhog Day for middle readers. The same day keeps occurring but the characters change their actions some days to see what happens.

Here is what Barnes and Noble has to say about this book:

After celebrating their first nine same-day birthdays together, Amanda and Leo, having fallen out on their tenth and not speaking to each other for the last year, prepare to celebrate their eleventh birthday separately but peculiar things begin to happen as the day of their birthday begins to repeat itself over and over again.

I can't wait to see what everyone else has recommended to read. My summer reading list is growing very fast!

Happy reading!

Outfit of the Day

Today was a special day for me! Tonight I had my districts service awards dinner and I was going to be presented a gift and could bring a guest to share in this event. Naturally I took my sweet husband. We had a nice banquet dinner and then came the presentation of gift. I have worked for 20 years in my school district. I can't believe that when I say it. Time surely does fly when you are having fun. Dress-Marshall's
Black shrug-Dots
Necklace and Earrings-Avon
Watch-Kohl's
Wedges-Payless

Below are the gifts I received. I had a choice of items to pick from; a paperweight, clock, watch, id bracelet and pearl necklace. I picked the pearl necklace I thought I would get more wear out of it. I had to walk across the stage and shake all the board members hands and the superintendent and was presented a silver picture frame at the end. I felt like I was graduating!

It was a nice evening out with my sweetie and look forward to the next 20 years!
