Thrifty Finds

A great day treasure hunting at the local resale shops. I came home with a new Pyrex Forest Fancies bowl and a stack of books. I wish I had found more Pyrex but I am happy with a perfect condition bowl. Perfect condition bowls are getting harder and harder to find. Also, I am thrilled with the books I found. All of them in my favorite genre, chick lit, and you can't beat the price of $1.00 a book!

What have you found lately?

Don't you just love getting great finds like these? I tend to visit several thrift shops about weekly - at one the books are $.25 or .50 and I usually find something there I want. Goodwill they are $1.99 but I go on Tuesdays to get the senior citizens (okay there have to be some good things about being over 55!) discount. In December I was in Melbourne and there is a GREAT used/rare book store downtown with a second branch at the flea market. WOW got lots of goodies! Tried to stay with the authors I collect but picked up some new ones too to try out!

I just finished The Shack - didn't understand what all the "hype" was about. Wasn't "life changing" as I have heard. 2 of my favorites - Redeeming Love by F.Rivers, Watching the Tree Limbs by M.DeMuth.

OMG I sold a complete set (well, 3 bowls) at my parent's garage sale - I think they sold them for $5! Still in the box - 'course the box was trashed but still....

Wow, I never find any good books at my local thrift stores. Good for you that you have one with a selection like that!
